Clear Opportunities in the fields
According to a research, a
good experience in work immersion or On-the-job
training helps to produce a confident graduate while it also gives prospective
employers a greater understanding of their skills base. The more a school
invests in its students through quality and competitive training, the greater
the chance of ensuring their success as well as retaining them, as they feel
valued and are more aware of the opportunities in moving up the ladder.
The Philippines is fast developing,
companies are hiring and due to high demand for manpower arise some serious
problems: first, there is a shortage of manpower in a high and alarming rate.
Second, majority of graduates are below the minimum industry standard because
they lack actual industry experiences.
Most schools are traditionally
inviting eminent personalities who have achieved some feat in the industry to
take some seminars for the students as an interaction support with present and
ongoing advancements in the technical fields but NEVER had a real training from
actual companies and guided by real industry experts.
To be able to take part of the trend
and to seize the opportunity of students being employed outright after
education is to deploy them into an immersion program that would take them into
the actual workplace. Because in-house immersion alone does not address the
important skills that companies are looking and required.
It will guarantee a higher
employability and a deployable competency as the
main objective of 'on-the-job training' is to acquaint the students formally to
a real life work place environment.
The niche
What students need is not only a couple of years of training but actually only dozens of hours
of actual immersion and job experience. Through exposing themselves into real
life training they can make themselves comfortable to understand what the
reality in the industry is like.
